Kildare Biodiversity Week 2019 Event - Community Supported Agriculture Walk and Talk

May 25, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Derrybeg Farm will host a talk on our not-for-profit business model, which is called community supported agriculture (CSA). This will be followed by a farm walk.

Derrybeg Farm integrates community and agriculture in a mixed, bio diverse, sustainable and environmentally responsible farm. The farm is managed by a voluntary steering group and employs one two part-time farmers.

We currently grow food for 40 local households, who are members of the farm. Our members live in Celbridge, Leixlip and Maynooth.

All welcome, suitable for children.

Please wear boots or wellingtons especially if the weather has been wet.

The theme for Biodiversity Week 2019 is ‘Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health’.

Kildare Biodiversity Week has been organised to develop awareness of the importance of biodiversity and to better understand its value to the local, national and international communities.

The people of Kildare are invited to get out into Kildare’s Biodiversity, to visit Kildare wild spots, lakes, rivers, bogs, woodlands or to simply enjoy the biodiversity of their back garden.
