When the body of a 70 tonne whale washes up on the shore near fictional village of Seaford, Co Waterford in 1934 a local man "Johnny Kinnane" ( a returned Yank) , decides to build an amusement park around the remains. His ambition stands in contrast to the towns conformity and sections of the village's nationalism.
