🌿 St. Brigid’s Cross Weaving Workshop 🌿

📅 Date: 1st February
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
📍 Venue: Solas Bhríde Spirituality Centre
🎟️ Admission: FREE Event (Sponsored)

Join the Solas Bhríde Team for a special St. Brigid’s Cross Weaving Workshop, celebrating one of Ireland’s most enduring traditions. Participants will learn the art of cross weaving using rushes, a skill passed down through generations.

Traditionally woven on St. Brigid’s Eve, these crosses are placed in the home—often over the door—to bless and protect the household from fire and illness. After weaving your cross, enjoy a chat and a cup of tea with fellow participants.

A Recognised Tradition
Solas Bhríde is delighted to celebrate State recognition of St. Brigid’s Cross weaving as part of Ireland’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. This recognition, announced by Minister Catherine Martin in July 2024, highlights the growing global interest in Brigid’s folklore, traditions, and legacy.
