One of the leading exponents of the historical Irish harp, Paul plays a metal-strung harp in the authentic style—using fingernails for resonance and fingertip damping to shape the sound. With decades of research, performance, and harp-making experience, he brings the past to life through music and storytelling.

Join the Solas Bhríde Team for a special St. Brigid’s Cross Weaving Workshop, celebrating one of Ireland’s most enduring traditions. Participants will learn the art of cross weaving using rushes, a skill passed down through generations.

Traditionally woven on St. Brigid’s Eve, these crosses are placed in the home—often over the door—to bless and protect the household from fire and illness. After weaving your cross, enjoy a chat and a cup of tea with fellow participants.

A Recognised Tradition
Solas Bhríde is delighted to celebrate State recognition of St. Brigid’s Cross weaving as part of Ireland’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. This recognition, announced by Minister Catherine Martin in July 2024, highlights the growing global interest in Brigid’s folklore, traditions, and legacy.
