What is happening in Kildare

Athy

“Celebrate in Style” Parade will start in Athy at 3pm on the 17th of March 2023.

Celbridge

Celbridge has organized many activities throughout the Saint Patrick’s Day. You should first check Castletown House market starting at 1pm. At 2.45 a pre-parade gig on the main street starring Sina Theil that will last for an hour. And at 4pm the parade will start on the main street where you will be able to see three marching bands and numerous local clubs, groups, and business as well as colourful floats.

Clane

In Clane Saint Patrick’s Day is a week long affair!
Tuesday 14th : Storytime at the Library at 3.30 pm (for children aged 5 to 8).
Thursday 16th:
-        Judging of the town shops decoration for Saint Patrick’s Day.
-        Creative writing workshop from 3.30 to 4.30pm with local author Emma Join (suitable for children between 8 and 12).
Friday 17th: Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on the theme of Movie Magic.

Edenderry

Edenderry Saint Patrick Day at 2.30pm 17th of March and goes on with music straight after the parade in square. Festivities continue Saturday 18th at 2pm till 5.30ish or 6pm with carnival and more in square.

Monasterevin

For this year Monasterevin is planning to have many activities for Saint Patrick’s Day.
Starting at 12.30 with a Dog Show, the venue is Monasterevin community centre garden.
1pm: Baby Show, the venue is Monasterevin Community Centre.
1.30pm: Dj Murt on the bandstand.
2pm: Parade.
3pm-5pm Face painting, Drumming workshop, Wheel of fortune, Popcorn, Candyfloss, Slushies, Mascots, Music

Newbridge

This year, Newbridge Saint Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 12 noon. The theme is “Celebrating the Curragh”. Expect many spectacular entries as theme associate Horse Racing, the military, mythology, the archaeology, environmental and of course St Brigid.
