Kildare Town Wellness Weekend ~ Slí na Croí Drummers

On Saturday Sligo ensemble Slí na Croí will be performing two acoustic sessions of traditional drumming music from the villages of Upper Guinea West Africa. This rich , pacey mix of percussion is infectious, as is the feeling to move.

Sunday night, Sligo ensemble Slí na Croí bring their stage set to Kildare town. After a busy festival tour in 2019 including EP, BodynSoul, Battle for the Lake and Livestock Slí na Croí are here to bring the beat of Upper Guinea to the streets of Cill Dara.

Expect raw village style percussion, dance and song, expect a high energy set and expect to feel like shaking your bones!

Slí na Croí can offer drumming and/or dance workshops for adults or for kids as well as fete style performances. The workshops are open level which means no previous drumming experience is necessary to take part. All the instruments will be provided. The drumming is very accessible and quite often people surprise themselves as to how much so. Expect lots of laughs, high energy and a great opportunity to connect through vibration!

Kildare Town Projects Group has a strict Covid-19 policy which all of our volunteers have been informed of. The Group has a Covid Compliance Officer appointed who has completed a Certificate in Covid Regulations with Sports Ireland.

We kindly ask that all people attending the event over Wellness Weekend continue to observe strict social distancing and hygiene recommendations. People attending indoor events must wear an appropriate face-covering.

All participants will receive a Self-Assessment form via email with their ticket confirmation which must be filled in no longer than 48 hours before the event. This form can be emailed to kildaretownpg@gmail.com or brought along on the day.
