International artist Conor Lane is a fine arts graduate in Sculpture from the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology and lives locally. Conor is a sculptor best known for his unique style of bog oak sculptures and handcrafts that are inspired from the landscape of Roseberry that he finds them in. Natural organic shapes both zoomorphic and anamorphic with design elements that lend themselves to the cultural history of the bog of Allen. His sculptures come in various sizes and can take years to be fully realised from when he first finds the bog oaks. Having studied sculpture for four years in G.M.I.T he also works in conceptual mediums like sound, video, instillation, performance and assemblage. His work is about socio-political awareness and perceived differences.
